10 months does not deserve any stars

At last, I can end this chapter of 10 months of horror, stress, frustration, and disbelief of just how bad service can be. The complete Chapter of this story is more than five pages long. In short - My vehicle was handed in at Chery Hatfield on 23rd April 2025 (when they were still Volvo / Chery). Due to lack of expertise and workmanship, incorrect diagnostics and work done unnecessarily, causing unbearable frustration and stress. Incorrect diagnostic being a disc skimmed, twice, in two days. When the actual problem was a faulty gearbox. The gearbox has been to a “specialised gearbox repair centre” on two occasions. And not any of their specialised attempts to “repair” was successful. A constant battle that lasted for 10 months. In this period of 10 months, I have not had my car in my possession from 30th July – 7th October 2025 and then again from 4th November 2025 – 3rd February 2026. A total of 5 months – I had to pay instalments, insurance, and car track on a vehicle I did not have in my possession. If I did not have to experience this and live this – I would have thought somebody is telling a far-fetched story. Yesterday on the 4th of February – I finally received the call – your vehicle is ready for collection. A big shout out and thank you to (the now new management of Hatfield Honda/Chery) Dealer Principal Francois and his team, Lloyd and Org that went out of their way to try and alleviate my stress levels and keep me sane! Hats of to you and your team. Unfortunately, they inherited this problem from the previous team, and had to follow Chery South Africa protocol to achieve the results that they have. Francois went out of his way to assist, I have total respect for Lloyd in the manner he oversaw this problem, by explaining everything very expertly to me and Org, thank you Org for climbing on top and inside the engine of my vehicle to identify the problem. Will I ever recommend Chery Hatfield to an already Chery owner for services – yes, for sure. Will I ever recommend a Chery to a new potential buyer – I doubt that. Not if this is the type of customer service and lack of support they offer.
