I would like to take this opportunity to recognise and commend Thato Camellia Mantjiu (Cashier) at Checkers Rosebank Mall for her exceptional customer service, dedication and commitment to her work.

I received a complimentary gift card from Lesaka, which unfortunately gave me difficulties for an entire week. Despite several attempts, the card would not swipe, even when I entered the PIN correctly. I eventually visited Lesaka's head office in Rosebank, but the issue remained unresolved.

However, during my visit to Checkers Rosebank Mall, Thato approached the situation with remarkable confidence and simplicity. She advised me not to insert or swipe the card, but simply to tap it. To my surprise, the transaction went through successfully!

What stood out for me was not just that she resolved the problem, but the confidence, practical knowledge and willingness to assist that she demonstrated. Sometimes, exceptional customer service is reflected in the simplest actions, yet those actions leave a lasting impression.

Thato's approach was a real eye-opener and a reminder of what dedication, commitment and passion for one's work should look like. I genuinely did not expect such a simple solution after a week of frustration.

I believe recognition should go where it is deserved, and Thato deserves to be acknowledged for representing the Checkers brand so positively. Employees like her make the customer experience memorable and restore confidence in excellent service delivery.
