Extremely Disappointing and Unacceptable Cake Quality
I am absolutely disgusted and furious about the cake we bought from Checkers Loftus today for our child’s birthday. We specifically chose the vanilla and caramel cake, expecting a soft vanilla sponge with caramel and creamy vanilla icing. Instead, the sponge was so hard it felt like dumpling dough, and the icing was just as disappointing. The label said the cake still had four days of shelf life, yet it was practically inedible. Our child couldn’t even finish half a slice, and none of his friends could finish a full slice either. How does a reputable store think it is acceptable to sell a cake in this condition, especially for a child’s birthday? This was our first time buying a cake from this Loftus branch. Because our favorite place next to them was closed and we thought why not Checkers, and after this once, it will absolutely be our last. We will be returning the cake first thing tomorrow. I strongly suggest that whoever baked this cake sit down and eat a slice of it themselves. Maybe then they will understand exactly how unacceptable it is. This is beyond disappointing it is completely unacceptable, and I expect this matter to be taken seriously and resolved appropriately.

Checkers Loftus Park
I went to Checkers Loftus Park in Pretoria on the 17th of Aug. I went to the bakery side to get a full cake, there were 6 people in there. I greet and no response so i wait 3 more minutes and no acknowledgement. I greet again and still nothing, they just look at me and continue talking. There was one lady who was helping and she saw me but chose to ignore me and help others. I walk around trying to get help but no help. I go back again and still im being ignored. 10 minutes later the one helping comes and ask "DO YOU NEED HELP" . I have never felt so little, when you go there i think you need to look a certain way for them to help you.
