Poor attitude and service

On Sunday 5 May, I went to Chatz Cellular at Mall at New Market. They had one of those 'bargain bins'. I picked two data sync cables, with hand written prices on them - on for R75, the other for R60. Different products, so I accepted the prices may be different. When paying, the product marked R60 rang up R60 , and the R75 product rang up R60. The cashier quickly overrode the price, made it R75 without an explantion.

I questioned this, and asked as to how the price on the system can be overridden.

I was told I was standing on the wrong side of the counter, and should not have seen the selling price on the system. I was told the price on the product is correct, and the price you see is the price you pay. I am more included to believe a price on the system, than a manul hand written price.

I asked to speak to the manager, who gave me the same response. I then compared it to Pick N Pay's (and most retailers policy when it comes to incorrect procing), which states that the product with the wrong price will be free, and any other proudcuts at the wrong price will be charged at the lower price.

The manager then rep**** that this is not Pick n Pay, and if I don't like the price, I must leave. This is the wrong attitude to show clients. Further, staff being able to manually override prices is a significant ***** risk. As a paying customer, I am more willing to believe a price on a system as opposed to a price hand written on a sticker and stuck to the packaging.
