Pathetic

<p>Last month I was assured by a Vodacom consultant that I have 4G coverage in my area, after checking the coverage map myself and spending hundreds on data- I was ready to get a mobile router. I was super happy, only once I got home and started using it, the device didn't seem to work well and using my two year old phone worked better. I tried daily, but wifi calls dropped, pages wouldn't load, when I checked the mifi settings, it said it was on Edge. With frustration I went to cancel this contract and was forced to "follow the OBF" procedure. I asked Clifton what will they do if the OBF doesn't work and he said he will sort it out. In November I got the new device but it's even worse. Now it just disconnects from wifi on its own, there is "no internet connection" when I try to use it on my laptop, Instagram NEVER loads, google maps doesn't work well. Neither does my banking app. I have had to spend even more money buying data bundles for my phone coz that works better. I have been emailing and turned to social media because I have had NO joy requesting for help. I will not be forced to pay for a device that doesn't give me the service I was told it would. The consultant told me "it works so fast that it may take up more data" so instead of 5GB, I took 10GB and it's been a complete nightmare. SOMEONE NEEDS TO GET BACK TO ME BECAUSE THIS IS NOT GOING TO GO AWAY. I REFUSE TO BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. </p>

Hi Farid,

This has still not been resolved. Muhammed from the Midrand branch has done his absolute best to assist me and he has been great (unlike the area manager Clifton, who ignored all my mails right to today), however the device does not work as it should. I have made several trips to the Mall of Africa branch, I have moved the device to every corner of my apartment, I have tried re-syncing SIM cards. In addition, Muhammed has changed settings twice to assist, he even taught me how to change to 3G settings if the issue still persisted, and I did it all but with no joy. I have wasted time and money, and experienced endless frustration. I have countless screen shots and print screens off my laptop to prove this and it has all been sent to Yandisa and Muhammed.

I want this contract cancelled. I will not waste any more time trying to fix what should have never needed fixing in the first place , I will not make a fifth trip to the Mall of Africa store after tomorrow for this device and I will not be paying as of 2017.

Muhammed sent everything to Yandisa and Clifton last week. Yandisa has responded asking Muhammed for service requests and dealer cancellations, etc but Muhammed doesn't want to take the fall for this cancellation, he has asked that Vodacom take it back. In this whole battle, I am stuck with a device that does not operate effectively, and I have advised them that I will not be able to deliver this device after tomorrow afternoon (22.12.2015) as I leave for DBN in the evening. So if this is not cancelled by the afternoon, and I am not contacted before 14:00, they can make alternate arrangements to fetch this device from me as I refuse to be inconvenienced any further.

My inital request for cancellation was in writing to Clifton in October, they tried to remedy it inbetween and refused to accept the cancellation, but despite scores of attempts, the device is not performing as it should and I'm tired of waiting. According to the CPA, if goods or products are of inferior quality, unsafe or defective, the consumer is permitted to return the goods to the supplier without any penalty and at the suppliers risk and expense within a period of (6) six months after receipt.

Please can someone get this done? however it is cancelled, as the consumer I should not be responsible for anything considering the circumstances and I should not be the one to suffer when it is clear that the device does not function well. Chatz need to take it back, cancel the contract and resolve it between the franchise and Vodacom or however it is done... I do not need to be in the middle of that.

I trust this will get sorted as requested.
