Please be aware!

Please don't get caught out as we did, using Booking.com to book a Double Room at Chartfield Guest House in Kalk Bay. Nowhere in the description on Booking .com when booking, does it tell you that the room is in fact not even in the Guesthouse but across the road, through several gates under lock and key and that the room faces a brick wall, and is claustrophobic and stuffy! If you happen to go onto the Chartfield Guesthouse website under no circumstances do the images of the room translate to the actual reality. All it says is that the room does not have a view. We booked a double room and nowhere in the confirmation email does it even at least warn you that the room may not be up to your expectations, or that it is on another premises! Worst to come though, when we clearly voiced our disappointment and asked for a refund, this was refused! They kept the entire amount and lamely offered us a complimentary breakfast which apparently is NOT included in the price of the room if you book through Booking.com!! Luckily we found a lovely place just down the road ( The Inn at Castle Hill ) which was so much better!
