Cenaturion System to act on warranty

20 Days With a Broken Garage Door – Zero Response from GarageDoorRepair 247 | Safety Risk Ignored On 6 March 2025, I contacted GarageDoorRepair 247 to resolve a fault with my Centurion garage door motor, which is still under warranty. Today marks 20 days since I made that call—and I’m still sitting with a broken garage door entrance, leaving my property exposed and at risk.

Despite the serious safety implications, GarageDoorRepair 247 has done absolutely nothing to assist me. I have followed up multiple times, been fed empty promises, and received no action and no resolution.

In the meantime, I also contacted Centurion Systems on 14 March and spoke to Mr. Pedro Gomes, who advised that since the motor was installed by GarageDoorRepair 247, they are responsible for the warranty-related repair. On 22 or 23 March, I called Centurion Systems again, spoke to a woman who took my number, and promised a callback—I am still waiting.

GarageDoorRepair 247 initially diagnosed the issue as a battery failure and charged me for a new one9. I did pay as I wanted the door repaired asap —despite the motor being barely three months old. They blamed load-shedding, yet we experienced no power outages in our area. They then removed the entire wall-mounted box, including the battery and motherboard, and left me with a completely unusable system.

I consulted another technician, who confirmed Centurion does not sell the battery box and motherboard separately—his only suggestion was to replace the entire motor, which is an outrageous expectation for a system that is under warranty and failed so quickly.

Even Centurion’s website confirms that:

“Batteries carry a six-month warranty due to the nature of these products being such that they are subject to possible misuse.”

So why am I being invoiced for a new battery after just three months, and why has GarageDoorRepair 247 vanished from all communication?

I already submitted a review here, and yet Gavin du Preez, the owner, has completely ignored it. No call. No message. No accountability.

This is not just poor service—it is negligence, and it is putting my home and safety at risk.

Centurion Systems, if you’re reading this: Your product’s reputation is being tarnished by your contractor’s total lack of after-sales service. You need to intervene before more customers suffer the same fate.

If I do not receive immediate support, I will escalate this through:

Consumer Protection services

Insurance ombudsman

All social media platforms

And any legal route necessary

This is now a matter of urgency and principle.

UPDATE – Issue Resolved Professionally Thanks to Centurion Systems
I'm pleased to report that this matter has been professionally resolved following the intervention of Leighton Coetsee from Centurion Systems.
After more than 20 days of silence and inaction from GarageDoorRepair 247, Leighton stepped in and ensured the warranty was honoured and the garage door was fully repaired. His commitment, communication, and sense of urgency restored both my confidence in Centurion Systems and the value of proper after-sales support.
Thank you, Leighton and Centurion Systems, for standing behind your product and putting the customer first.
