Think twice when buying used.
One thing people need to be aware of when buying used or pre-loved devices is, you going to pay a certain amount and when you want to trade in to possibly get another device, this is where the **** hits you..
I went this morning to buy stuff from another shop and had to wait for that shop to open and decided well, since I am there, let me check in with Cellucity as I am planning on trading in for a different device this month and hey! Well I bought from Cellucity so why not trade in and get a more recent model device..
Bought a Samsung S21 Plus (A Graded) 256GB device on 24th April 2025 @ R 6899
Guess what I was offered... R 1200
So after a couple months use, same quality as per being placed in a UAG cover of R 799 and well looked after with 88% Battery Health, thats what I got offered.
I then said, don't you want to see the device to confirm, they said no, their offer is based on when the phone was released, not what you paid for it.. So, I am like aah okay if thats the case then why you selling it for so much then when someone comes in to buy a device if its based on the duration from the release to current date..
I have learned my lesson and will buy elsewhere and not from businesses as you get *****ed over big time. Another business thats well known offered R 4500, so dunno, suspect practices from this company.
I get depreciation and all that but still..won't even assess or look up that it was bought from them and per their logic of release date of the device yet selling it above the value it's worth is basically thievery then if its on that premise.
