Sickening service-Tric
Recently my LCD was damaged. I had to make a claim with TRIC within 12 months of having the policy. I understood the 10% plus R300 needed to be paid within 12 months should the device be replaced which is stipulated on my policy and that is all which is stipulated, no other extra costs advised. The replacement of the device was advised by the company that was doing the replacement. I received an invoice of R1993 to pay for this amount which does not add up. My policy schedule advises that it is insured for R 5 279, the excess fee should have been less than a R1000. Upon querying about this, Marcel from admin plus advised that the amount consists of the 10%, R300 and the access amount of the device due to the value of the device increasing. I advised Marcel this is not possible due to a new model coming out and the price should have depreciated. I asked him tp provide me proof from the manufacturer that the price increased for this device however he could not provide me with this. He could only provide me with an invoice that was made out to me. He did not take my claim seriously even after advising his I will take him up to Ombudsman. I told him I was willing to pay what was stipulated on my policy however I am not willing to do so anymore because this has taken up my time and money. Its is frustrating when policy's do not advise accordingly or consultants at stores advise you otherwise. I have been without a phone for the past two weeks and been using email to communicate.
I will have to take this up further due to bad service I have received, how can I trust you with future claims.
Marcel even advised my device was not responding and that is why my phone had to be replaced and not the LCD however I advised that the phone was responding due to my alarm going off and I had to use the side keys to mute the alarm.
Please get your facts straight before drawing up an invoice and ensure you have proof to back up the amount you are asking for.
