Refund outstanding

I am writing to complain about the ‘shoddy’ way I have been treated by Cellucity in Cavendish.

My contract was due for renewal, and as I have been a customer at Cellucity for a number of years I renewed my contract around the 7th November. Obviously I asked for all of my old contacts etc on my old cell to be transferred to my new cell...especially Viber. I paid R250 to have this done. When I got home I tried to access Viber, and every time a message popped up telling me that Viber was not available (or something like that – please remember this is now over a month ago). I made numerous telephone calls and travelled from Pinelands to Cavendish on three occasions and each time I was told that it was loading and should be able to access in a few hours. Well this never happened. Eventually after two weeks of struggle they sent a Samsung ‘fundie’ out to my house to see what the problem could be. After him sitting here for two hours I was told that the memory in the cell was not sufficient to accept Viber. I told them to take the phone back and refund me my money that I paid.

Today is the 29th December – I have not been refunded anything as yet. I am expecting a refund of approximately R400. (Why R400 – R250 + R150 for upgrade and I purchased a cover for my new cell of which I have no idea what the cost was – the representative that was at my home with Carlo took all my invoices to do the refund!) The question as regards Vodacom is whether they will in fact refund me the R250 I paid to transfer my data. No-one has called me. The promises have been numerous. I have spoken to the Manager and to Carlo at Cellucity, numerous times. I was promised that they would call me back but I have been the one to call them.

I am a pensioner, and to think the way I have been treated is appalling, I certainly will never go anywhere near them again.
