Monthly Insurance charges should include for depreciation values on handsets

I took out an original insurance on handset: Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (selno: ********** ) on 04/03/2016 – please note: this was not the handset that was provided with contract upgrade. To which I’m paying an amount of R85-00 per month for insurance.

This contract was due for upgrade dd: Nov’2016 to which I only did the upgrade in Feb’2017 (a Vodacom Tab was provided as handset with the upgrade).

This simno: IMEIno: ********** ********** 8 is STILL BEING USED WITH THIS Handset: Thus: Samsung Galasy S4 Mini.

After telephonic conversation between myself en “CELLSURE” today (please see recording attached). They indicated I will only be able to change insurance to handset once I’ve received “NEW” handset.

1) Surely there is a depreciation of value of the handset that needs to be allowed for.

2) If I do not “upgrade” for 5 years – does that mean I will still be paying the SAME AMOUNT for this time??

3) WHY – if the current premium in comprehensive insurance is R59-00 (for band 3) and R39-00 (for band 2) – DO I STILL NEED TO PAY THE R85-00 PER MONTH FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS??
