Cell C Contract cancelled after 4 days without cause

On Friday 13/1/2017 I took out a Pinnacle 100 contract at Cell C, N1 City. (Contract Agreement number ********** ********** ********** , and I was helped by a very efficient gentleman called Zubair. He also helped me to port my Cell C number ********** 040 from Glocell).

On 16 January I received a message to say that my 'cancellation request was processed and my contract will be terminated on 16/1/2017 and that I can phone 084143 for any queries'. I never requested cancellation of this number.

Well, I phoned the call centre, and I was passed on from the retention department to the technical department to the new contract department to the sales department back and forth, for two days now.

Yesterday afternoon, Karmelita at the N1 City branch of Cell C finally got hold of someone at the call-centre called Rose (no surname, unfortunately) who could identify the problem and who could help me.

She then advised me to buy a new sim card, and have it Rica'd. She then sent an email to someone who would have contacted me today re a sim swop and reactivation of my number. She had to leave at 5pm, so she could not finish the process.

On the other hand, Karmelita, who had to leave at 5pm, stayed on 20 minutes longer to issue a new sim card and to Rica it.

Well, I am still waiting on the phone call of Rose's colleague.

I phoned 084145 today and after again being dumped from one department to another, someone called Sheryl told me that my number was permanently deleted and I can never have it back, unfortunately.

She then put me through again to Customer Care to speak to a manager, and after 'hanging' in silence for 5 minutes, I terminated the call and decided to approach Hello Peter.

How can the number ********** 040 be permanently de-activated when it was Rica'd again last night?

Just for the record - payment on any of my contracts were never in arrears; this number belonged to me since my first contract with Cell C.

Please can someone help me to just get my number back again. I manage a crisis pregnancy centre, and this is our contact number on all our pamphlets, posters and ads. This is a lifeline number to many pregnant and scared girls and I need it a.s.a.p.

I had to repeat the same story about 50 times in the last 48 hours, with no senior person to speak to.

I had several contracts with Cell C since they started, and as a loyal customer am horrified at the service I received. Although everybody was polite and listened and asked the necessary questions, they did not seem to have the power or insight as to how to help me.

Kind regards,

Rosa Scheepers

********** 235

E-mail address: **********

Just to say that Zea from Cell C contacted me, and that my contract has been re-activated.

Thanks, Hello Peter :-D.
