Bad Service : Cell Plus, PMB Midlands Mall

I took my iphone to a company called Cell Plus which is situated in the new section of the Pietermaritzburg Midlands Mall (next to Checkers and the Crazy store) to have the screen replaced. They checked to see the the phone was working 100% before taking it in to repair the screen. When I collected it, they assured me it was working 100% and charged me R550. (my error was taking their word for it and not switching it on to test it before leaving the store)

When I tried to switch it on, it did not work properly and would not charge at all. I went back to the store (2.5hr drive) to complain and after much discussion and argument, the owner agreed to keep the phone and try to find out what was wrong with it.

I phoned the company numerous times to find out what was happening and the owner stood in the background shouting abuse while his shop assistant had to try to relay what he was saying to me. When I asked why he would not speak to me directly as it was not fair to have her be the 'middle man' - he eventually spoke to me. He was rude, arrogant, nasty and even threatening and said i needed to collect my broken phone from him and he would not refund anything & couldn't fix it at all.

On Sunday the shop assistant phoned me to say the phone was working 100% and to please send someone to collect it. On Monday (today) they phoned me again to say the phone was not working at all but to send someone to collect it anyway.

I tried speaking to the owner and mentioned that I was not happy with the shoddy service received and he responded by hurling abuse and being extremely rude and demanding that I collect it as soon as possible. He threatened me by saying "if I thought of reporting it via social media - i must just wait to see what would happen"
