Disgraceful service from V Cell Clinix, Walmer Park Shopping Centre, Port Elizabeth
The service received from v-cell clinix at Walmer Park shopping Centre in Port Elizabeth is disgraceful to say the least. They are ****** are getting away with impunity it seems.
My wife's Samsung A50 fell and its screen cracked. Because we insured it, I contacted my broker and was told to obtain a diagnostic report. I approached this business on 25 May and asked if they would examine the phone and complete a diagnostic report. They agreed and emailed the diagnostic report a day later quoting R2499 as the cost to repair the cracked screen. I then in turn forwarded the report to my broker and insurer (this diagnostic report will be forwarded after this email). The insurance approved the repairs with an excess of R700 to be paid by me. I then indicated that yhey can proceed with the repairs. I was notified 2 or 3 days later that yhe phone screen has been repaired, and that I must come and pay amd collect. Upon returning and my wige using the phone the battery required charging, but when she plugged it in to be charger, it didn't want to charge at all. I then contacted the repairers and was told to return the phone so that they can repair it. I told them that it charged 100 % when I dropped it for the screen to be repaired. I also indicated that I am being inconvenienced and that it is costly to travel to return the phone and was told that I must not take chances (I have the entire WhatsApp conversations). I asked them why the phone could not charge and they could not give me a clear answer. I was told that it would take an hour to sort out the problem. When i returned home, the phone could charge, BUT there was no sound for media at all. I then became suspicious and searched the company online. Their website does not have a direct contact number or head office, and I then contacted the walmer park shopping centre management amd was provided with the number of the owner: Imran Khan, nr ***. I contacted the owner and he said that I must return the phone AGAIN so yhat he can personally tend to the matter. I took the phone and was told a few days later that it has now been repaired. I still couldn't not get any answers as to why the phone was now giving so many problems. After collection of the phone itnjust switched off a few hours later with the battery at 71%!!! And could not switch on again for about an hour. When it eventually came on, a screen message said that the phone is overheating. ALL this NEVER happened before. It has been doing this ever since. It is then that I said that I will be reporting the matter to SAPS, but thought I would seek legal advice first.
Also, out of curiosity I asked for a quote to replace the screen of a Samsung A50 from the same company's BayWest store and was quoted R1700... A whole R800 less. I know that I have been done in and suspect that parts were taken from the phone and replaced with cheap imitations...
