Zero Recourse with Cell C
We were mis-sold a 36-month contract and device. For future reference, don't believe that a Huawei device is remotely compatible with the Google ecosystem, it ain't. Notwithstanding going immediately back to the store and working with the specialists (several times), they refuse to take the device back. Once stuck, it's impossible to find any recourse with Cell C. The shop we purchased it at is simply ghosting us; the call centre says we need to go through the store's channels and there is no official complaints channel to be seen or heard. It's like dealing with a dead person.

We had a number of discussions with "Customer Services" and despite their concerned use of language and unfailing loveliness, were entirely unable to affect any influence within Cell C at all. They basically faded out, too embarrassed to even concede withdrawal.
We've stepped up to a formal complaint with the Consumer Commission, but I'm not pinning much hope, based on the engagement so far. So with little support from the State and clearly perverse incentives within the company, Cell C is committed to the exploitation of their customers by any means available. Watch your back, it's rough out there!
