Your accounting/payment system is failing you – as regards services for me or perhaps, more widely
You have failed to debit me (or failed to debit me correctly) for services since April ‘23 >>> >>> Please open a case for this and send me a) the case # and b) an email address to which I can send the full story and a payment analysis Please note the following though: 1. Please do not put this matter in the hands of a low level first responder. I have no faith in such agents who, in my long experience with you, don’t read up on the issue , don’t do the necessary research and thus, don’t understand the problem and then, too often, don’t provide a comprehensive solution 2. Rather, assign this matter to someone at a higher level – an expert? - who will understand the problem and be able to investigate in your accounting and payment systems and reach the correct conclusions 3. As regards a possible ultimate settlement in your favour, if such becomes due: YOU ARE NOT AUTHORISED TO DEBIT ME VIA PAYFAST. I WILL SETTLE VIA EFT TO AN ACCOUNT THAT YOU WILL NOMINATE. IF YOU UNILATERALLY DEBIT ME VIA PAYFAST, I WILL REJECT THE DEBIT AND WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY “PENALTY” FEE THAT YOU MIGHT LEVY AND I WILL CLAIM FROM YOU ANY CHARGE(S) THAT ABSA BANK LEVIES FOR THE DEBIT ORDER REJECTION(S). Note also that it is clear that you are not aware of the failures in your system. Thus, I could stay silent and possibly could get way with non-payment for services ad infinitum. I expect you to recognise this and reward me appropriately
- your responses to my original submission via this channel part of which was to send me a case ***,
- subsequent interactions with your agent to whom the case was assigned,
- that person's subsequent verbal and emailed confirmation (8 January) that I owed you nothing as of 1 January and, as per 1 January account invoice , that I am in fact, (or, was at that time) in credit in the amount of 10.95,
- month-end January 2024 and supposed processing of your Payfast debit to my credit card account and;
- my having drawn a statement dated 1 February 2024 from your web site which shows
- two credit memos dates 31 Jan for 148.74 each
- your invoice debit dated 1 Feb for 159.69 which is, arguably (see below), the incorrect amount and;
- a residual credit balance of (minus) 148.74 re which, presumably;
- once you post the credit for 159.69 for my "payment via Payfast" the balance will return to 10.95 credit (you owe me)
From my further analysis, the situation stands with this status as of now:
- Your Payfast debits are still not hitting my credit card account
- Browsing of my profile in your web site reveals that the “My Billing” info reads as follows: “Primary Device: This is the billing information that we have on record:
- I note in the 1 February invoice drawn from your web site, that you have charged me in same for 159.69 for my Pinnacle package data and minutes instead of the standard 99.00. It would seem that you have increased the price of the Pinnacle product. Is this correct? If yes, when did you advise me of the price change and in absence of such, why not? When are you planning to inform me?
* Why is it that in my profile IN THE APP under “Invoices”, it shows under “My Bundles and Services” the following: “Upfront Pinnacle 2Gb 2020 TopUp R 179.00?
(Screen shot evidence of these different pricings has been taken and I will include these in future email communications)
If anyone is actually reading this submission (my historical experience with you is that no one on your side reads written submissions), please note the following:
- This is the second time that I am placing this matter (now updated) before you. It’s also the last time and hereafter, I walk away from it and will decline to accept any future claims for amounts due that you might present to me
- if we reach an understanding which leads to full resolution of the matter, I expect that you will recognise that I have voluntarily brought the matter to your attention and factor this into your consideration of the necessary outcomes suitable for both me and yourselves
- As regards a possible (repeat: possible) ultimate settlement by me, if such becomes due: YOU ARE NOT AUTHORISED TO DEBIT ME VIA PAYFAST. I WILL SETTLE VIA EFT TO AN ACCOUNT THAT YOU WILL NOMINATE. IF YOU UNILATERALLY DEBIT ME VIA PAYFAST OR OTHER FORM OF DEBIT ORDER, I WILL REJECT THE DEBIT AND WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY REJECTION/UNPAID “PENALTY” FEE THAT YOU MIGHT LEVY AND I WILL CLAIM FROM YOU ANY CHARGE(S) THAT ABSA BANK LEVIES FOR THE DEBIT ORDER REJECTION(S)
So again, if you read this far and if you do indeed action it, please assign it, this time, to someone who has sufficient experience to a) understand the issues and b) present for my consideration, a correct and acceptable solution
Lastly, note also that this and any related communication neither admits, nor denies, any possible indebtedness to you, on my part
