Why should I renew my 5 Contracts with Cell C?

Dear Mr Jose Dos Santos

Please give me one good reason for renewing my 5 Cell C contracts after reading this review.

On 25 Sep 2016 I took my new Sony Aquaphone in for repair at the Grove Pretoria due to a faulty microphone. It was still under warranty. It was sent in for repair. I had no feedback at all.

I then phoned to find out what was happening. I was told the phone was out of warranty because it was a Sony and Cell C was not accredited to repair the phone.

I was therefore told to pay for the repairs. I got no feedback that it was fixed.

I then phoned and was told it was fixed. I requested that it bee sent back to Grove for collection.

This was now 2 (TWO) months later on 26 Nov 2016. However instead of being able to collect a REPAIRED phone I was informed that it had been sent back without being repaired.

This meant that after 2 (TWO) MONTHS I STILL had a FAULTY phone and was back to square 1

Hence Mr Jose Dos Santos please give me a good reason for renewing my 5 contracts with Cell C. If you are unable then I will then need to ask my friends on Social Media.

Your sincerely

As per our records, your handset was booked in for repairs and it was assessed thoroughly by a qualified Sony technician and the device was quoted due to out of warranty, as Sony issues twelve(12) months warranty on their devices.
Our consultant who was handling this matter then provided an amicable resolution towards the quote.

Thank you for the quote.
CellC has offered to pay half of it since it is not certified by Sony to repair Sony Cellphones
I would like written confirmation of this offer so that there will not be a dispute at a later stage.
Can you please confirm in writing.
Thank you

Good Day
Someone phoned me from Cell C in October / November to inform me that Cell C was prepared to make me this offer. This was before the phone was sent back to Cell C at the Grove without having been fixed. It was the first time I checked in the phone for repair and that specific incident was EXTREMELY POORLY HANDLED The reference number for that incident was GPPRE50905 (logged on 25 Sept 2016).
Note: After going to Cell C at the Grove to collect the fixed phone I was informed that the phone had NOT been repaired. This is why the second incident had to be logged with ref.no.GPPRE75857.
I strongly suggest you follow up on your side on who dealt with this incident at that time, to determine who made that phone call to me. Whoever phoned me should have made a note on the system against the incident number I have given above ie GPPRE50905.
Alternatively, since phone calls are recorded you can check Cell C's phone records to my cell.no. ***-*** **** in October / November 2016 to determine the content of that conversation. I can unfortunately not give you the date on which the phone call took place since my incoming phone records only go back as far as 14 Nov 2016. Also I specifically did NOT record THAT particular conversation since Cell C is supposed to record all of its conversations.
Kind Regards

Good day,
Thank you for contacting Cell C repairs once again regarding your device in repairs.
Kindly be advised that all calls made between the 01/10/2016 – 30/11/2016 have been listened to, there is no consultant who advised you that Cell C will pay half amount of the quotation.
The 1st consultant advised you of the quote amount and you advised that you did not receive an SMS and requested the quote to be sent to you, of which the consultant noted on the system that they sent the quote to ****** The consultant advised you of the warrant that fell away.
Second consultant called you and advised you that the device is quoted due to out of warranty as it fell away in its 12 months, quote was sent again as noted by the consultant to ************
Further the consultant advised you should call to accept or reject the quote because if you don’t do so the device will be sent back unrepaired due to unconfirmed quote.
You also called on the 10/11/2016 and you were advised that the device has already been dispatched to the store.
The device was rebooked with the reference number GPPRE75857 and quoted again.
The quote still stands as the device is no longer within warranty. Warranty fell away on the 19/07/2016.
Please advise if quote accepted or rejected.

Thank you for sending the voice recordings to Cell C at the Grove. Lorraine was very helpful in assisting me to listen to them.
Unfortunately you didn't send the voice recording I was referring to - for obvious reasons.
I find it rather sad that a company like Cell C, who supposedly prides itself in providing good customer service and spends hundreds of thousands of rands enticing customers to join them by buying out their contracts, resorts to tactics like this to save a few rands.
I am tired of all this ****.
Please send my unrepaired phone back to Cell C at the Grove.
I shall be keeping this fiasco in mind when deciding whether or not to renew my 5 contracts with Cell C
Kind Regards
