Why is it so difficult to cancel a contract

<p>On 02 May I gave written notice to Cell C that I want to cancel my contract. It had expired months ago anyway. On 07 May I received a response saying that I would have to pay in full for June as well as for July, but my cotract will end on 02 July. So despite the cancellation policy stating that a customer may give 1 months notice to cancel, they force me to pay for 2 months, and give me service only for 1 month!!!!! </p> <p> </p> <p>When I complained I was told that in that case they will end the service at the end of July, to stop me from "loosing out" but that amounts to having to give 2 months notice to cancel!! I am loosing out, I have to keep paying high contract rates for 2 months, instead of just 1 month.</p> <p> </p> <p>I asked that they only charge me pro rata for 2 days (01 July and 02 July) before ending the contract on 02 July (one months after I gave notice). NO RESPONSE.</p> <p> </p> <p>I need the contract to end on 02 July, and I WILL NOT pay for the whole month of July. The most I am willing to pay is 2 days (01 and 02 July). </p> <p> </p> <p>If not sorted out I will see a lawyer and use the CPA to force Cell C to behave like a responsible corporate.,</p>
