Why is it so difficult for Cell C to cancel my contract??????????

As far I am concerned cellphone Network Providers are a law unto themselves without any repercussions. The CPA law clearly says a contract has a start date and an end date, cellphone companies should never extend contracts month to month without written approval.

For months I have been trying to cancel my data contract with Cell C, which expired months ago. I am now in a situation where I have been to Cell C branches to try to cancel my contract. They refuse to take my instructions to cancel the contract and are diverting me to a call centre. It is a mission to get through to the call centre, and once one is in, the they create extra hurdles. I am of the view that they are doing this deliberately to frustrate the helpless consumer, yet they are quick to take calls if one upgrades.

I have nowhere to confirm that I eventually cancelled my contract as I can't write anywhere. I phoned today and spoke to Zee Khuzwayo and gave her instructions to cancel with immediate effect, My reference number is ***31 4200. As far as I am concerned the contract is canceled or I am taking matters in my hands. Why must we, the long-suffering consumers, go through what is clearly day light ******* without fear of consequences???????
