When can I expect my money
It came to my attention Saturday the 20th of October that my debit order for my contract with Cell C has gone up considerably. I contacted Cell C Cape Gate straight away, where they confirmed that I have bought a new phone! I was totally flabbergasted as I have only a ZTE Wifi Router contract with Cell C.
I went in with all my paperwork ID book etc to get to the bottom of the issue. I spoke to a manager which again confirmed that I bought a brand new phone and the debit order on top of my current debit order is now odd R1600. After much protesting it was made clear to me that "possible" ***** was committed using my ID and according to the manager somebody up in Johannesburg bought the new phone which I am now paying for. I have no idea how things get checked these days as all my details are on Cell C database my signature etc???.
I made it clear that I don't have the money to pay for this new device as it is not in my budget seeing that money is tight and that Cell C should sort this out ASAP. As the week progressed I kept pressure on them Cell C Cape Gate to sort this issue out and helped as fast as I possibly could to get what they required to stop the number and to take the extra debit order off.
Things unfortunately moved slow and the debit order went off my bank account and as I had no money allocated for the "new device" I am paying for but do not own or need, sadly other debit orders bounced because of this and bank charges has been charged. I had to borrow money to pay other debit orders and to get through the rest of the month.
So... it remains to be seen if this issue has been resolved... the debit order amended to my original debit order amount, if security will improve, when I will get my odd R1200 back and lastly will Cell C reimburse me for the bank charges that was imposed on me for not being able to uphold other commitments?
