What’s app data not working

Good day I’m on prepaid and recently I’m facing an unusual thing , I bought what’s app data but I’m unable to use it due to that I don’t have airtime . I have 585 mb but I can’t chat on WhatsApp. Can cell c please advise me what is happening.
