WHAT IS HAPPENING TO CELL C???

My cell phone contract was due to end in July. I agreed to be down scaled to and amount of R29.25 a month for a few small benefits. A week or so after that I received a call offering me a contract for the SIM of R200+ which I refused. So when my account arrived in August you can imagine my surprise when my account was for R200+ when it should have been R29. Called Cell C numerous time in August....eventually was told that "they are waiting for the recording"....well it seems that to date, 3 October they still do not have the recordings!! Every month they send notification that I have received all the benefits THAT I DID NOT AGREE TO. The amazing thing is that I have not paid the account since AUGUST and have not even had a reminder for AUG SEPT OCT. But they religiously send the benefits. Today I decided I had had enough of their messing around and decided to cancel my contract. I was told that they cannot cancel "a contract that is in arrears"!!!!! Guess who brought it to their attention that is was in arrears???? NOT THEIR ACCOUNTS DEPT I just don't know what to say?!!! Now I must be penalized and inconvenienced because of their incompetence. What is happening to Cell C? I have been with them for 16 years and have had up to as many as 5 contracts with them at a time (kids!) But in the last 3 months I have found their service to be shocking.
