Went on contract against my will, "impossible" to move back to pre-paid. ***?!

In October 2015 CellC phoned me wanting to sell me a data contract with a free 3G router, which I accepted... What I didn't realise at the time was that they would CHANGE my number to a DATA ONLY contract, which removed my ability to call outwards completely. I thought that my number would remain pre-paid for airtime and the data would be on contract, so I lost calling functionality for a good few days.

I tried multiple times (about 6 times), to cancel this contract which they didn't let me. They kept telling me to call different numbers and then when they finally did call me back to "confirm" I was in a meeting, and when I phoned them back they'd deleted the request so I had to start from scratch.

This morning, months later, I decided to try again because I hate being billed monthly, particularly for something I didn't want in the first place.

I phoned them and they told me that it is IMPOSSIBLE to move my number back onto pre-paid. In other words, they can move you onto a data contract FROM a prepaid which they'll happily bill you for monthly, but the reverse, to go back to how it was originally, is simply physically impossible. Cannot be done...

According to CellC, once you go on any kind of contract, particularly a data one which you didn't want anyway (only took it because of their spam calls offering 3G router which I've never used to be honest - my own fault for not just hanging up...), you are stuck on contract forever... For the rest of your life you will be billed monthly regardless of what you want. It's a one-way change which is IRREVERSABLE.

If I cancel it they say I'll use my number (which, by the way, was on prepaid for 10+ years until their marketers phoned me and f'd me over like this)... Not cool CellC. Please guys I know that it has to be possible to move a number onto pre-paid. What if I port to another network? Or is that now also impossible because I was ******* into this ridiculous "deal"... Really not cool guys... I've been patient but the word "impossible", seriously? You're going to lose a customer and I'll tell everyone to AVOID your one-way contracts at all costs if that's the case. I'm pretty sure the other networks would be more than accommodating for such a basic request??

Thanks team - Skhumbuzo was 1,000 times more helpful than the normal call center guys - had me changed back to pre-paid within literally a few hours... Five stars for the Social Media team - I will remain a loyal customer as I have since 2006... :)
Thanks again for the help guys.
