Weaseling out of warantee

The only reason I even rated this site one star, is because I have to pick SOMETHING!

I have been with Cell C since they started in this country - approximately 20 years. I started as a prepaid customer, and then had a series of contracts with them. My whole FAMILY is on Cell C because of me.

But apparently, loyal customers mean nothing to them. My husband had his handset for 9 months when it started giving trouble. The screen just stopped working, but it was under warantee, so we handed it in on 23 December 2016.

We have been arguing with them since then. The SCREEN stopped working, but they insist that because the CAMERA is cracked, they can't fix it. I didn't ask for the camera to be fixed, I want the touch-screen fixed. They can't even fix the phone; they want to give me a refurbished handset in exchange, and then charge me R1400 for it.

That's not even the poor customer service. I have been e-mailing them since 5 January. Do you think even one of them can actually reply to an e-mail? I had to escalate it all the way up to head-office. When I drove into the shop, all they can do is pass me on to the call-centre. Head-office STILL hasn't managed to resolve this issue; they are now cancelling this job and sending me back my husband's broken phone.

They are merely looking for loop-holes to not honour the warantee, and ignoring me in the hopes I'll give up and go away.
