Verbal Abuse by Cell C Customer Service Staff

I have been a client with Cell C for almost 10 years now. Three years ago, the accounts department messed up my account and I had to struggle 7 months to get this resolved. The only way I could get this resolved was by reporting them to Icasa.

In January 2024, they sent me a statement for my normal monthly debit order, when the time came, my debit order was not deducted, so I paid them manually. In February 2024, I received a statement from them showing that I owe them R1.00. At the beginning of March 2024, they again sent a statement that I owe them R3500.00. Towards the end of March 2024, they send me a letter stating that I owe them R6000.00. At the beginning of April 2024, they sent me a statement showing that I owe them R8000.00.

I have been harassed by 25 people to date regarding this account, having told 23 of these people that I once again reported them to Icasa for their bad service. Not a single one of the 23 people that harassed me made the necessary notations about the reference number or case number from Icasa.

On Thursday, 25/04/2024, I received a call from a gentleman that started assisting me with resolving the problems that Cell C has caused on my account as well as solving my complaint with Icasa. At 11:30, I received a call from *** and spoke to a lady by the name of Thobeka (or similar) from the Cell C Customer Service Department. She asked me to verify some details, which I did. Once these details were verified, she asked me with regards to my account, as I started to explain to her about the case I have at Icasa against Cell C and the gentleman that I spoke to earlier this morning, this lady had the audacity to scream at me: "YOUR ACCOUNT IS IN ARREARS AND YOU BETTER MAKE PAYMENT". The audacity that they have to scream at you as a client, when they messed up your account, is appalling. Needles to say, this lady has now led to me registering another case with Icasa for harassment and verbal abuse.

So, if any of you are with Cell C, it might be best to change your service provider, because to get them to rectify their messes and take accountability for it, is like getting the gates of heaven to open for a sinner. The customer service department staff will verbally abuse you for their mistakes.
