Upgrade process seriously flawed. Extremely poor communication

I have been due for a contract upgrade for some time now (since June last year) and have been getting several calls from Cell C asking why I have not been upgrading. I informed the agents (several of them) it was due to me not seeing any deals worth my while (in terms of the handset I am after and the budget I have). I have done my homework (as any budget-conscious person would do) with other networks and had noted that I could get the exact handset, with almost identical benefits (minutes/data etc.) for far cheaper rates. I had spoken to the Cell C retention's department on numerous occasions asking about their deals and what options are available, but still they are more expensive that other networks.

During one of the calls with a retentions agent, proceeds to suggest that I send proof of these other deals (specifically screen shots) and they would be happy to arrange a deal match. My response to this is extremely positive, as I have been quite happy with Cell C. The apparent turn-around time for such deal match request is quoted by the agent as being 24-48 hours. Giving Cell C benefit of the doubt, I allow this to extent to a week (no response). So I send another email (still no response). I call the retentions centre (they don’t even know about my request). I send a 3rd email after 2 weeks (still no response). I call again, and explain my predicament to the agent who (very kindly) emails the marketing department – who, so I was told, look into these deal-matches – to ask what the status is of my request. Again….nothing….. Try asking the agents if you can get a direct number/contact for this department and they tell you they are not authorised to do so... go figure…

After letting things settle, I call again (almost a month after my initial request), but…. you guessed it…STILL nothing. Yet another email from the agent to the marketing department is sent on my behalf, along with a 4th email directly from myself. Cell C, you clearly don’t care about customer service. Not even the decency to call and say you are looking into my request and will get back to me shortly.

Patience is a virtue, but time is a commodity. Yours has run out Cell C. I am cancelling my contract.
