Upgrade not possible
Good day,
I could not upgrade my contract due to being sequestrated. The same was not a problem when I upgraded 2 years ago, why now. And, why weren't I notified of credit vetting changes that could put me and my wife (also Cell C customer) in a predicament.
As far as I am aware the cellphone contracts are excluded from the insolved estate thus we should be able to carry on with our contracts as long as the monthly cost remains the smae or less. I have reduced my premium with the previous upgrade and whilst sequestrated with no problem.
I have to understand why am I (and my wife) penalised for this upgrade and what did Cell C do to inform us of the credit vetting changes so that we can be prepared for it.
Desired outcome: I want a hanset and sim upgrade not only sim.

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Please accept our sincere apology for the frustration and inconvenience caused.
The debt review process is court ordered but we have been lenient. Subsequently, the courts have ruled to enforce the order that no credit can be passed until the debt process is completed.

Thank you for the swift response.
I am however still very unhappy and unsatisfied.
You cannot state you have been lenient despite a court order. The blame the courts to have ruled to enforce the order. It simply does not make sense what you are doing. You are happy to give me a sim contract for R199 but refuse a R409 contract to include a new phone, it is still a contract and therefore your principle reason to enforce a court order makes no sense.
I have opted to sequestrate myself and my attorney told me that the cellphones amongst other expenses are excluded from the court order, for this reason I don't understand why Cell C is punishing a customer that honours payment religiously.
Cell C please understand that i will not surrender to the new found enforcement and withdrawal of your leniency. I will continue escalating this concern until I am satisfied with the result which is including a phone to my contract.

Call my wife on *** (Hayley Wolmarans). We are married in community of property and I gave her consent to answer on my behalf but for both of us.

The matter is still unresolved.
Cell C shows little to no interest to resolve this matter and I will escalate.

If Cell C is willing to extend our contracts without a handset they can similarly extend it with the handset.
Cell C chose to ignore further discussion for this reason we will escalate because we are treated unfairly thus we will seek assistance from any and all legal assistance available.
