Upgrade deal lost due to incompetence

On 19/01/2022 my son and I went into the Festival Mall Cell C shop and upgraded his phone to the Samsung A32. It was the last one in stock so I could not do an upgrade myself. In any event I wanted the A32/Galaxy Tab combo which was also not in stock. I was told that stock of both A32 and Tab should be in by Friday 21/01. Friday came and no stock. I was then told Monday, but no stock . I was then promised the Tab and A32 by the end of the following week (28/02), but still nothing happened. On 31/01/2022 Florence then forwarded a message to me purportedly from head office, in a nutshell saying that the deal had now expired and the deal was no longer valid.

Just to be clear: The ad said "limited stock". I was not told that there was NO STOCK, only that the store was WAITING for stock. The reasonable assumption was that an order had been placed, which is why I waited.

I would appreciate it if Cell C would honour that deal as I waited in good faith and I believe that unit did not arrive not because of stock issues, but because of incompetence in Cell C's internal infrastructure.

Hi Alan Marsden
Thank you for contacting Cell C.

Had you already submitted an application at the store, or were you awaiting stock to be delivered first?

Regards

Reviewer Update
It is now the 11th of February and this has not yet been sorted out. I got one phone call from a lady who told me she would follow up on the matter and said she would call me back in an hour. She never did. A day later I got a call from someone asking me if the matter had been resolved. I said no, and that the previous person was supposed to have attended to it. He said ok and I promptly got an sms "closing the ticket". This is not even poor service, it is bad business. I am extremely disappointed. No wonder there is no way to find contact details for management. They are clearly not interested.
