Unwanted Contract

My wife passed away awhile ago and she had the contract with Cell C. I contacted them and told them that I wished to retain the present Cell number and continue with the contract in my name. The woman on the end of the line was very helpful with everything and unknown to me sold me a new contract all the time telling me that all was in order and I could keep the number plus switch to pre-paid. In no time at all I was asked to do a debit order which was something we did not do as we always paid by EFT but I thought nothing of it and allowed the debit order to be done. The next thing that rang alarm bells was the arrival of a new SIM card. On contacting Cell C it was established that it was a new contract plus new number. Not what I requested but what I was lead to believe was the deal. This was someone who appeared to be helping but being underhand and pulling the wool over my eyes. I have been advised that this bogus contract has been cancelled but only time will tell. I am putting this out there as I what I needed was a simple thing but because of someone earning commission on sales I got taken for a ride and a lot of stress trying to cancel something I did not want or need. The last lady that helped me has assured me that it has been cancelled and if so then she deserves a 10/10 for service. The rest, well the facts speak for themselves and all calls are recorded so if anyone should check they will hear me plainly saying I need to keep my present number and NO I do not want a new contract.
