Unpleasant service experience

Last week (03 October) I had issues with my contract, which had a term which had ended, a gentleman called to confirm that the account will be closed with immediate effect and reverse all benefits received as I had not use it. He also indicated that the amount due will be canceled as well, I keep receiving sms 's from cell c "Yr account is in arrears by R 146.77 .Reply YES for us to debit your bank account now.If funds insufficient reply NO+date for new Debit Order submission.Cell. C. Am really not certain what the issue is as I was advised everything is settled.
