Unhappy and Disappointed with Cell C....will never take any new contract with them
Don't take up a cellphone or data contract with Cell C. They are a nightmare to deal with and when you try to cancel a contract, they continue to debit you...even when your number is now a prepaid number.
Dealing with Cell C call centre agents are very disappointing. Cell C as a Company is pathetic. It's very easy to get a contract telephonically but a nightmare to cancel same.
The agents in the call centre don't know what they doing and probably don't know how to use their system and make notes, etc. They give out wrong information and then that becomes the customers fault.
In September, my father called Cell C to request cancelation of his cellphone contract. The agent he spoke to clearly advised my father that the last debit will be in October and the amount will be R152.00....hence we only accommodated for that amount and in October, Cell C tried to debit R275.00 instead (which obviously returned unpaid). Then when we called to query same...I spoke to the Team Leader Jabulani Tshabalala and he listened to the call recording from September and confirmed that the agent gave the wrong amount but advised me that the retention dept still needs to investigate further and they'll give feedback within 48 hours. They never called back with feedback...I had to call back thereafter and spoke to another agent who explained why the amount was in fact more and I understood his explanation and immediately did the EFT payment for the total amount owing. The gentleman even confirmed the contract was cancelled and that was the only amount to pay.
Then in November, Cell C tried to debit R91.04 which did not go through...due to the fact that we did not accommodate for same. I called Cell C again and made a big noise with regards to same. The 1st lady I spoke to advised me the account is in arrears but could not pin point when it would have fallen into arrears. The 2nd person I spoke to was a gentleman and he explained that the fee they tried to debit was for the unpaid debit order in October and transferred me to the retention dept where I spoke to a 3rd person, Nomandla. This lady logged a case and advised me that they'll give feedback within 48 hours but I did not receive a call back...I had to call in myself for feedback again and spoke to Khanyo Bam, she gave me feedback that we liable to pay same.
My point was...they initially gave the wrong amount in September and that is the reason for the unpaid in October. And when I spoke to them in October, they did not mention that there will be another debit in November due to the unpaid and hence again we were not prepared for same in November. I understand that there's terms and conditions that were accepted when the contract was signed...but surely they have processes in place to accommodate for the wrong info that their agents supply. Should it still be the customer's fault?
My parents are pensioners. They collect the Govt grant and cannot afford to pay cellphone contracts. The bank account that Cell C was debiting from just accommodates for what debits they need to pay and hence there's never extra money in the account.
I have paid the R91.00....in fact I paid R100. So I hope that greedy company is happy. It wasn't about the money...it was about the fact that they supp**** incorrect information from the beginning.
Cell C does not take responsibility for their unprofessional and uneducated staff, who don't even know how to update authorization even on an account.
Now I hope they don't attempt to debit in December again. As now I'm not even paying for airtime or data used but paying for their Head of department to live a comfortable life.
