Unconscionable business ethics
So I have been with Cell C from the beginning - a loyal customer for the past 20 years.
I've unfortunately now come to the conclusion that part of Cell C's so called current turn-around strategy is to engage in unconscionable business ethics. My internet contract expired last month and without prior warning, my "out of contract" subscription suddenly went up with an additional R400.00 per month.
Their excuse is that there was a discount app**** to my contract which now no longer applies. However, my statement states the discount to be a "subscription discount" and although I'm deemed to be "out of contract", I am still a subscriber on a month to month basis, am I not?

In answer to my review you state that while the contract is on month to month I forfeit all my discounts. Can you please be so kind as to indicate to me where in the Subscriber Agreement it is stated as such?
According to my copy of the Agreement, the only timeframe applicable is the "contract period" of 24 months which continues to be in effect afterwards on a month to month basis until it is cancelled. So if the contract remains binding, then so does all the contents of it - including the stated discount.
Furthermore, the space provided for the "discount period" was left blank - thus indicating that there is no time frame applicable to the discount.
So in essence the discount carries on for as long as the agreement is in effect - even if it is on a month to month basis.
I was forced to renew my agreement today just to save myself from having to fork out an extra R500.00 (VAT included) every month as no-one was able to assist me today in cancelling my agreement.
So once again, tell me in which paragraph in my contract it states that my discount will fall away after 24 months - I challenge you!!
