Unauthorised automatic unwanted subscriptions from Cell C
I have a prepaid phone but recently discovered by accident that I was automatically subscribed to Gameblaster or whatever unknowingly and had 6 subscriptions attached to my mind. All I did was buy data and then received smss that stated you will be charged R5 and R2 per day! Only when I received a msg stating that I could unsubscribe and I phoned Customer Service did I discover this. The consultant while helpful insisted that I must have subscribed at some point but that he could help me to unsubscribe. He also stated that he would escalate my case but there was no follow up. I have been reasonably happy with this service provider for the longest time but this is unacceptable and I want all customers who like me,have simple straightforward needs, to be aware

Best regards,
We have received the below feedback as quoted.
"We have implemented a DOI (Double-Opt-In) for our services - this is the additional step we take to confirm that users are aware of the subscription activation - as they have to confirm/verify.
Upon activation, we sent this customer a welcoming SMSes that explains the service, the cost and how to cancel. We also sent the user a subscription reminder message, a month later, which also have service cancellation instructions. All these activation confirmations and reminders are put in place to ensure that customers are aware of the subscription, should someone uses their phone or subscribe by mistake. However, since the customer is not happy with our services, we will offer him a refund of all the airtime deducted by the subscription. A total of R11 airtime will be refunded to the customer's account within the next 5 working days. Kind regards,"
