Unable to port after 10 years! Disgusting Customer Experience!
No in question:*** Hello, i need to port my cell c no that i had on contract since March 2009. I did not use this no despite being in contract as I used another contract as my primary outbound no. I bought a prepaid sim in claremont to simswap so i could port the no out, explained to the consultant i need a sim purely for simswap...he then explained to me that there is a sim with data for R29 and after I advised i do not need data he still proceed to sell me a sim for R29. I then was told I can do a sim swap over the phone. Was not possible as they said there is no usage to do security check for a no i had for almost 10 years. I was then told to get an affadavit, proof of address and ID by the contact center advisor. I then went back to the store only to be told i need a different sim of R11 instead of the one sold previously which I then bought only to be told again I cannot do a simswap instore again. I then went to Kenilworth center cellc branch and was advised by Saadiqah to just have Telkom Mobile action a port and that should do the trick. By this point I was fuming as it was weeks of in and out of these stores being sent from pillar to post. Went to Telkom and was told I needed the sim to be active in my phone so that I could receive an OTP to enable a port. I then went back to cellc Kenilworth center and was told again by Saadiqah that she can get dismissed for assisting me with actioning a sim swap on the no I had for almost 10 yrs as there was no usage to verify. Only after I indicated my intention to escalate the matter did she then say she would speak to a senior and I need to wait on a call in 2 days time. I now understand CellC barrier to transact and "Computer says no" attitude which is why the shareprice and market perception around cellc is what it is!
