*****ulent activity within Cell C

At some point in 2021 my ID and personal information were used to open an account at Cell C. Between September 2021 and February 2022 I was in contact with SSDA attorneys regarding this *****ulent account. I furnished the attorneys with documents and information including Police affidavits, and was informed in February 2022 that the matter had been finalised and the attorneys were no longer dealing with the matter.

To my surprise, I discovered quite incidentally last week that I had been blacklisted by the credit bureau. I immediately went in to my local Cell C branch and once again furnished the customer care representative with all the necessary documentation, including a new affidavit from the police. I was promised that the matter would be escalated as a matter of urgency and I would be contacted within two days, as I was due to depart back to my home country.

I was contacted by someone on Thursday, 11 April who promised to send me an email address to enable me to once again supply the documents, affidavits and previous email correspondence with SSDA attorneys.

To date I have not heard another thing from anyone at Cell C, and now demand that this matter is finally put to rest, and the judgement against me rescinded.

I am of the opinion that an employee at Cell C is complicit in this matter, as they had access to my personal details, including ID and bank account details. I would appreciate it if someone from Cell C would contact me as a matter of urgency to escalate this matter, and assist in removing the judgement at the credit bureau.
