This is so unfair

I called to cancel my contract in October 2020. The agent said that my contract would be cancelled, and my that my last debit order would be in December. My account continued to be debited in January. I have been calling and calling Cell C since, I have had to deal with multiple rude and unhelpful agents, and my account is still being debited.

My contract was finally cancelled and my number moved to prepaid this month, but my account is still being debited. I called Cell C today, and they still want to charge me for the last three months that THEY took to cancel my contract. They're saying I used the benefits. I may have used the SIM card once or twice in January, and I am willing to pay for January. But I don't deserve to be charged for the entire three months. Especially when Cell C is the one at fault for not cancelling the contract in the first place, and then taking so long to actually cancel it.

The worst part is that there is no one who I can talk to, who can adequately help me. All the agents can do is log a call and escalate it, and then I have to wait to be contacted by "someone from the back office." It has been three months, and I have not been contacted by anyone. I'm the one who has been doing all the calling. This is so unfair.

The agent who I spoke to when I called to cancel the contract in October did confirm that it would be cancelled in 30 days. Check your records. It was on the 19th of October, and the agent's name was Zinhle.

I then stopped using the SIM card soon after. I didn't even touch it in December . . thinking that my contract was cancelled. When I saw a debit attempt in January, I put the SIM card in my phone, and only then did I see that it hadn't been cancelled. I then called 143, and the agent who I then spoke to confirmed that it hadn't cancelled. He then said it couldn't be cancelled now because my account was in arrears. But my account was only in arrears because of the January debit attempt. And as I previously said, Zinhle had confirmed that my contract would be cancelled within 30 days when I called to cancel it in October, and that the last debit would be in DECEMBER.

The agent who I spoke to in January then logged a call, and told me that I would be contacted by someone from the back office within 48 hours. It has been months, and I still haven't been contacted by anyone. I'm the one has been contacting Cell C, and dozens of times. You guys only finally cancelled the contract now in March, and the debit attempts were still going on in that time that YOU guys took to cancel the contract.

As I had told Zinhle, I cancelled the contract because the network was very bad. When I found that the contract hadn't been cancelled in January, I considered not cancelling it at all. So I did use the SIM card once or twice in January to check if there was any improvement in the network. That's it. As I previously mentioned, I did not even touch the SIM card in December . . In February (and March), I only put the SIM card in my phone to call 143. Not to use the benefits.

So okay, charge me for January. But to charge me for the entire three months plus the penalty fees . . Is that fair? When you are ones at fault for not cancelling my contract when you said you would, and then taking two, three months to actually cancel it . . The bill only piled up during that time because you guys took all that time to cancel my contract . . Is it now fair to charge me for that entire time?

I spoke to Palesa from the head office last Thursday. She was supposed to call me again on Friday or Saturday, but I still haven't heard from her
