Having upgraded a contract at Cell C Bluff Towers Durban on Wednesday 02/08/2017 and recieved a Samsung J5 Prime.

It worked perfectly for 2 days and then proceeded to act faulty. The screen selects apps on its own or 1 part of the screen is repeatedly selected, all while noone touches the phone. Sometimes this makes it impossible to use the phone to do anything and it is ANNOYING because this is a brand new phone.

Contacting the store, they told me that I need to hand in my phone and it will be sent for assessment.

This will take a minimum of 7 working days and no maximum time given.

I am not prepared to wait 1 day as I have expected a new phone which is what Cell C is taking money for every month but they make me feel like they are doing me a favour.

I need a new Phone or cancel my contract and I am prepared to give another network a chance and my business.

This incident will not be forgotten and the response is required urgently!

Good morning Kelvin
Sincere apologies for the poor service and inconvenience caused.
When a device is booked in for repairs it normally takes 21 days maximum but your one should be sorted quicker as you only had it less then seven days.
One of our team members will contact you and advise on a way forward.

Best regards,
I have sent the phone in for assessment, this still puts me at an inconvenience as I am left without a phone that I have been promised by you.
I am cancelling the contract due the defective device and absolutely **** service from the CellC store, call center and your complete lack of empathy.
With all the money that you make from customers, can you not train a technician to assess phones in Durban. This will cut down waiting time and annoyance on the customers part, but I guess you do not care as you are still charging the customer for the contract as they have no device to use.
