Once upon a time I was impressed by Cell C. I tried to convince everyone I know to convert to Cell C, the other networks being the sharks they are. The events of the past year or so, but especially the last 3 months have changed my mind completely.

First there was the issue of my iPad: for the duration of my contract my account was a couple of hundred rand, and then suddenly the one month it was in the thousands. I never received any notification that my data bundle was exhausted. Cell C said that my usage limit was R5000 and therefore they could just continue. I never knew that my usage limit was so high. When I had a problem with high data usage when I was still with Vodacom they agreed to look at the amount of data and convert it to a data bundle which was much less than the out of bundle rate. That would have been the sensical approach. They then credited my account with the amount that was already debited. In my opinion Cell C should have done the same. But they just ignored it. iPad account ( ********** 167 & ********** 447) Cell C Customer Care Case Number : ********** 966. Earlier this month I sent a notice that I want to cancel the contract (Incident: 160 ********** 95) but they didn't respond and I lodged a complaint again [Incident: 160 ********** 94], and yet I am still waiting for a substantive response.

Then in March this year I upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S7. Only after I lodged a complaint on Hello Peter was a sim swop effected. But that was not the end of the story. I waited for the 60GB data to be loaded, but I was given the runaround. Only after a few weeks did Cell C tell me that the 60GB data will only be loaded when the old contract expire. When the old contract expired the 60GB data was loaded, but then the accrued minutes on the old contract disappeared. I lodged a complaint (Incident: 160 ********** 06) and I was told that I would be credited when the new invoice is processed. They did not do that. I lodged another complaint (Incident: 160 ********** 96) and another complaint (Incident: 160 ********** 93), and still I am waiting for the credit.

But the cherry on top if what happened today. This morning I still had over 40GB data left. My usage account was only a couple of rand. I still had about R90 airtime. To my shock I received the following message early in the evening:

"Your Monthly Usage Limit, which comprises of your Voice, Data & SMS (excluding Subscription & Value Added Services) is R 912.00. You have R 6.32 remaining to use. If you would like to increase your limit, please call 140. Cell C"

Not only did they take away all my data, they also took my airtime and R900 of my usage account. All this without any notification that my data expire or has run out or anything like that. In my opinion that is plain and simple theft!!!!

Last time Hello Peter helped. I hope that it will help again, but if not, I'm going to lay formal ******** charges.
