Terrible service from Cell C

I have recently started a new job and as part of my mobile allowance, I need to migrate my number to an enterprise work package by porting my existing number. I request the cancellation of my contract on the 1st of October 2022. Cell C responded saying I have a penalty of approx. R4000 to cancel the contract which expires in March 2023. This is not true as I haven't upgraded for some time and the contract is now month-to-month. Cell C said I signed a contract with their Hatfield branch which I have never visited. They advised they would get proof of the contract and provide feedback within 48 hours. It is now the 18th of October and I have emailed them approx. 6 times with no feedback.

The contact centre number is ***and is a call centre for clients with "exclusive" packages. However, it doesn't work and gets reverted to the "normal" call centre. The agents here cannot help as I am an exclusive client even though I never asked for this. They then transfer me pack to this "exclusive" call centre where nobody answers. This back-and-forth has been going on for two days now. Eventually, after begging to speak to the manager at the "normal" call centre, they promised someone would contact me today, 18 October, for feedback at 14:00. Needless to say, nobody called me. The worst service I have ever experienced in my life. I have to move my package by the end of this month. I wait with bated breath.

Reviewer Update
I received a reply from a Cell C representative dealing with complaints. They only seem to take notice when a complaint is lodged. I finally had hope yesterday when they advised the following telephonically and then confirmed via message "Thank you for your request to migrate, it will be effective on the date you have specified. Cell C". The agent advised telephonically that there was not signed contract, I was on month-to-month and therefore my cancellation request sent on 1 October was valid with no penalties. I thought that was the end of it.

Unfortunately, not the case and you can't make this up. I have now received an email taking me back again to square one where they have advised the below. Can you believe it? I called their "Exclusive Call" center and guess what, I got through to the "general call center". They gave me the number ***to call to speak to the relevant person at Exclusive. NOBODY ANSWERS this number people! Once again, no assistance could be provided. Truly the worst experience I have ever had. Still have no idea if my contract is now cancelled end of this month or not. How is it possible that a business can exist with a service like this?

Good day Thank you for contacting the Cell C Exclusive Support Desk. Please receive your case reference number: SN ***. Kindly be advised that we cannot cancel the line *** since the contract has 8months remaining with a commitment amount of: R3995.97 VAT inclusive. Please note that you will be required to settle the commitment amount along with the invoice so we can proceed with cancellation. Furthermore 30days notice is required prior we can proceed with cancellation. Kind Regards Thami
