I have not been receiving incoming calls or messages for a day and a half now. A call was logged yesterday at 16:00. I was given some instructions to cancel my call forwarding and setup roaming manually, which didn't work. I was told "There is a problem and the technicians are working on it." This morning still nothing. Another call at 11:20 today, to be told eventually that "I see a call was logged yesterday - it is with the technical department". I asked for an estimated time to resolution, to be told "hopefully some-time today". 14:30 now and still no resolution. I run a support business which requires we are available 24/7, and have not been able to receive calls from clients for a day and a half. The reputational damage we are suffering possibly outweighs the financial damage, although that will be hard to judge short-term. Other people on the forum reported the same issues over the same time-frame, so Cell C are aware of it, but can't find or fix their error in a day and a half? What if all of our contracts were affected by the same outage? How do you run a business without cellphones and stay in touch with your mobile workforce? The sense of urgency displayed by Cell C to resolve the issue appears to be non-existent. Update - after the 5th Call today, I finally got hold of a call center agent who said "We are aware of the problem. We are migrating your number to Vodacom - I have escalated it to technical - please give them between 24 and 48 hours to address the issue". So, if it is actually resolved within the time-frame, I would only have been non-contactable for 3 to 4 days. Maybe it is time to move the whole account to another service provider who is in control of their own network. Update - 15:50 - I was magically switched on and started receiving messages with 2 days of missed calls. If you are experiencing the same issues - get it escalated to the technical team as soon as possible and follow up relentlessly.
