Suspended line

I have been a Cell C customer for 5 year with no issues on my account, no history of late/non payment.

I was overseas a few weeks ago and understandably my account usage was high. On returning to SA, I found that my service had been suspended. After querying this, I was told that my account usage exceeded R800, which is the credit limit Cell C has decided to allocate to me a few months ago on upgrading my contract.

I got an SMS giving me my usage amount, which I did not have a problem with, but NOWHERE in the SMS did it say that my usage was over my credit limit.

I have gone over this limit before when travelling overseas so I cannot understand how this amount was determined. It is not stated in my contract or any of my statements. I don’t understand how my credit limit can decrease when my salary has increased over the years!

I have asked for the limit to be raised. This has not been done as no agent has been allocated to my case. My account is still suspended. I have offered to clear the balance so that this can be resolved but this also cannot be done until an agent is assigned to my case. I travel overseas for business and make international calls on my line so I cannot have an unreasonable limit.

I am not allowed to speak to anyone is the credit department directly and cannot get this resolved.

This is absolutely shocking service from Cell C.
