Stay away from Cell C fiber!!!!

I just want to inform you guys of the service I have been receiving from Cell C fiber this past month. What a disaster!!!!! This is the biggest mistake I made in my life.

I signed up with them in March. My router and connection was done and running by mid April. As per my contract I would need to pay R799 per month. The first 3 months would be free. Come end of May. Month and a half after my router was installed, I get billed R1078. I should have been billed only end of July for the amount of R799. After 3 weeks of lodging a complaint we came to a conclution that I will be billed only in October now. Whatch this space.

Then on Wednesday I inform my Cell C sales representative that my internet is only running at about 5mps after all electronics connected have been switched off. I have a 20mps fiber line and should be running very close to that.

He came out and did a check and advised that something is wrong and that we should lodge a ticket with Octotel to check the fiber line and grey box they fitted on the outside of my wall.

The box fell of the wall after it was glued on initially. There might be a cable or fiber line that was damaged when this happend. Anyway. Octotel agreed to send out someone to remount the box and make sure my fibreline is running at 20mps.

I just spoke to the representative of Octotel and she informed me that the technician was at my house. I went outside and checked the box that was fitted without him informing me. I was at home the entire day for them to fix the problem that is my line not running at 20mps. This was the agreement.

I just checked my speed and it is well below 10mps. I would say this is a job half done. I would not recommend Octotel/Cell C to anyone of they dish out the same service as they did with me the past month.
