SIM SWOP Nightmare!!

I travelled out of the country in April and in the process lost my SIM Card. I got back and called the customer care for a sim swop they insisted i should buy a new one which isnt RICA'd. From PNP i bought one called Cell C and i was advised that the one i bought was already RICA'd. I went to another PNP bought another one same problem until i went to Cell C Golden Acre and asked to buy one and they could not help me instead suggested i bring a Proof of Res and ID then buy the ones they had(They didnt have unRICA's sims). A lady there took me through the process which seemed like eternity but now i cant recall the last dialled numbers from that phone because its not primary cell phone. I have this Cell C call home line to make international calls because its relatively cheap and surely the calls i can recall are the ones from my primary number as i rarely make international calls. I am disappointed that a customer care agent advised me to buy a new sim and register but i didnt want to change my number. So disappointed
