sim swap nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!

My phone got ****** over the weekend. As a pre-paid customer i thought a quick in and out at the Cell c bayside shopping centre would have me sorted. 5 hrs later i left the store with no luck. i was subjected to a list of questions that no one on this planet could answer. for instance, the lady asked: tell me 2 last numbers you dialled??????***??? who memorizes numbers????? when was the last time u loaded airtime.....last week sometime i said, no! u need to supply the date?????? u get one chance to answer the questions, if u get it wrong u get told, sorry we cannot do a sim swop, u need to phone back and try again i went through these questions 7 times..... Cell c....really????? the trauma of losing your phone, bank cards and drivers licence and then to have to deal with absolute nonsense is just the cherry on top. these questions make no sense, i have id preoof of residence proof of work address etc etc etc... not good enough??? what to do next? i was told in store to phone the call centre... holy ****, i just want my old number back, is that too much to ask for??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Being treated as a ******** over a sim card....well done cell c...im sooo lucky to have chosen u as my service provider. tx!!!!!!!!!

Hi Adriaan

Thank you for contacting Cell C.

We understand your frustration following the traumatic event of your phone getting ******.

However, the security check is a mandatory part of the sim swap process, that has to be passed in order for the swap to be completed.

Regards

well basically what u are saying is that once u have lost your phone u cannot get a sim swop done.. as the stuuuupid questions are not answerable..do u remember the last numbers you have dialed mr MP???? if u bought airtime or data 2 weeks ago, would u remember the exact day and date mr MP?????

if u could answer yes to any of the above, then i believe u are superhuman mr MP!!!!

u can take your sim card and shove it where the sun dont shine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! merry f........ christmas!!!!!

The reason why the process exists and continues to be used for sim swaps is that it can be answered successfully and has been answered successfully by a countless number of customers.
