SIM SWAP DILEMMA

Here is the story

I recently lost my phone and needed to retrieve my number.

So I called the customer care center to get assistance and was told to buy a non Ricard Sim card.

So I went to my nearest mall and tried to buy a NON RECARD SIM. And the cashiers told me in order to buy a Sim form there store I had to first Rica the Sim with my ID and proof of reference. I spoke to the manager of the establishment and told them I'm trying to do a Simswap to restive my number. But still was told that on the system when you buy a Sim your still required to Rica it. So I then called cell c customer care and explained that I cannot get a Sim the they refferd me to try other shops Namely Pep or pep cell Akhamence Pic n pay Shoprite And ok stores.

Then I went to all those stores and STILL SAME PROBLEM YOU HAVE TO RICA THE SIM CARD IN ORDER TO PURCHASE IT.

In the mix of all those troubles. Im trying to activate my bank app and need a one time pin to my number that I'm trying to retrieve.

Anyways I them tried the Somalian stores and still couldn't find assistance

When I call cell c customer care they tell me they need a non Ricard Sim and I explain to them how am I suppose to get it as I've tryed all alternatives and still cannot get it.

But still they told me to make a plan cos they can't assist me

NOW THIS IS WHERE THE STORY TAKES A TURN

I HAD TO RESORT TO CRIME TO GET HELP SINCE THEY WANTED A NON RICARD SIMCARD I HAD TO GO IN OF THESE ESTABLISHMENTS AND ***** I SIM CARD AS I COULDN'T BUY OVER THE COUNTER.

AND GUESS WHAT I WAS HELP WHEN I CALLED THE CELL C CUSTOMER CARE AS NOW THE SIM IS IN RECARD

MY QUESTION IS DO WE REALLY HAVE TO RESOT TO THAT IN ORDER TO GET A SWIM SWAP FROM CELL C

HONESTLY THIS IS NON SESSIONS YOU CANNONT INPOSE A RULE THAT GOES AGAINS RETAILS CONSUMER ACT AND THE SOUTH AFRICAN RICA ACT THAT STATES THAT YOU NEED TO PROVIDE AN ID AND PROFF OF RESIDENCE IN ORDER TO GET A SIM CARD

SO CELL C TELL US WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO
