Shocking, disgusting service.

So I buy two night time bundles of 250 megabytes at six rand each and no sms to notify me of the purchase cones through. I then check my balance and airtime has gone off my account but I still don't have the 500 megabytes I'm supposed to have. I think to myself "I won't phone customer care now I will do it tomorrow.

Next day I recharge again and I try to purchase daily bundles and yet again there is a problem which did not surprise me. I then call customer care, my mood is neutral and I'm relaxed because my problem will be sorted nw I thought. I explain to the consultant what issues I had encountered and this is what he had to say: "we were experiencing technical difficulties with the daily bundles that's why you did not recieve any sms to confirm the purchase because the purchase never went through." SO I asked him how the money went missing from my phone as I had no active Internet sessions at that time. His reply was that MY phone had turned the airtime into data which means that I only received 12 mb of data. Then I asked him a very obvious question, I asked him when will I be refunded my twelve rand as I did not want to purchase 12mb at R12, this was done without my knowledge or consent. He laughed and proceeded to tell me that No, there is no refund because MY phone had turned the R12 in megabytes, and yet again I told him that it is not my fault that this happened, I purchased something and I did not recieve what I purchased therefore I should be refunded. Then he tells me that I don't understand, that's when I lost it, I was shaking like ****ting dog. I yelled at him to get me the manager right away and I heard him put the headset down. I waited two minutes and still no manager, then I hear a recording asking me to rate the service so I put a big fat zero and then silence, they dropped the phone on me. Golden rule of call centers is that you always ask customers if there is anything else they need assistance with and never ever drop the phone, if you are being sworn at and abused by a customer then yes drop the phone; but I never abused or swore at the customer service chap I only raised my voice in the hopes that it might penetrate his thick skull. I mean really who trains these people, how can you be in customer service and be so out of tune with how the situation should be resolved? If any of my team of waiters had told a guest that they cannot be refunded for our mistake I would have sent them packing on the spot. And what kind of spineless manager refuses to engage with a customer? This manager does not care about what happened and instead of leading, inspiring and motivating, this manager is setting a bad example to all the other staff, her actions howling to them that it is okay to not care, it is okay to drop the phone on a customer.

I spend a minimum of R2500 a month on my cell phone bill. I work hard for my money and when I don't get what I pay for I am going to get ****ed off as isanyone else. Cell C lift your game, maybe start by giving the execs less of a bonus at Xmas time and invest that in your staff to give them some decent training.

SOME ADVICE TO THE MANAGER: Everybody in customer service should know about the Blue airline in the USA that broke a musicians guitar, He was sitting at a window seat and he heard a lady saying "Oh my God, they just threw a guitar, he looked out the window and sure enough his guitar was lying on the ground. He tried on numerous occasions to get compensated for the guitar but the Airline refused to reimburse him. He then made a song about the whole incident and put it on you tube where it became a hit garnishing more than a million views in no time. His song was so popular that it featured on various news networks. Only after all this damage had been done did the airline beg his forgiveness and agree to compensate him but it was already to late, had they resolved the matter when it first happened they would not have lost millions of dollars from would be customers. Just goes to show you that every single customer is important and they should be treated with the utmost respect, after all they pay your salaries.
