Security questions expose privacy risks for all South Africans
Trying to do a sim swop on my phone and one of the "security" questions they ask me was, how much I paid on my homeloan account in August? They should not be able to see that kind of info in the first place or have access to my account via whatever system to see that type of info.
I have an issue with sharing this type of info as a security question? Building up databases with our records to sell and market more irrelevant products other than those related to mobile communication.
Are the banks just allowing anyone to access our accounts now and have a look? How does a vendor like Cell C have access to check this type of info without my permission?

Cell C has introduced additional measures/processes so as to protect our customers and also minimize the risk of **********/******** activity against their accounts. Granted this may add frustration to a legitimate customer however these are processes introduced in the interest of protecting our customers against a growing pandemic.
