ROAMING SUPPORT - POOR CELL C HELP!!
I went to a Cell C store at Centurion mall to enquire how to activate international roaming for the USA. We were advised to contact 084145 to activate the request. I called and I informed them it is for roaming in Florida, USA. They confirmed that roaming is activated and informed us to dial *106*2#. this was done and Cell C confirmed that roaming was activated. When my son reached Dubai the phone roamed with no problem BUT when he arrived in Miami the phone refused to connect to any available service provider! I called Cell C again and was informed that it is a HYBRID contract(do not know what this means) it is a post paid contract. I was told that we need to load airtime to have roaming enabled. I was NOT told this prior to my sons departure and the phone roamed in Dubai, so why would it not roam in in Miami as we did not load airtime for it to work in Dubai. The call center person by the name of Minnie said that unfortunately we cannot sort the issue now as the phone is not in SA. I need a manger to call me to sort this issue as the call center agents clearly do know what they are doing or saying to their customers!!

She told me to have wifi calling activated??Thus, my son has to find free wifi to get this setup working.
He setup his banking to get sms messages for activities on his bank as well as TWO STEP VERIFICATION, how will wifi calling help?
AT&T and T-Mobile to name a few are service providers in Miami and according to the Cell C website partners for roaming.
How can it be so difficult to resolve this issue and why do you have someone calling me that do not have the knowledge to resolve the issue?
This after it was incompetence of your call center that caused our predicament!
Please assist with someone that know exactly how your system works!!!

The advice given was that I had to buy AIRTIME on my FNB app for this number as it would not require any input on the phone itself to activate the airtime. I purchased R150 worth of airtime and i have made contact with my son via wifi WhatsApp. The phone still does NOT want to register to any of the available networks in Miami. This has cost me additional money now based on the advise given with NO result.
I was also promised that i would receive a callback at 2pm to confirm that this advice worked, but NO CALL received and it is past 3pm now.
How is it so difficult for Cell C to know the operation of their services so poorly and then having me spend additional money to buy AIRTIME that will solve the roaming issues and then the outcome is that the roaming still does not work!!??
Can someone that is sure of your roaming service contact me and assist to get this issue resolved please!!
Surely this is NOT the 1st Cell C roaming in Miami, Florida USA!!!
