RIP Cell C

Shockingly poor service. Try to interact with Cell C when it is not a sale and you are in for a rough ride.. You better have more than 30min free time and thats only for your initial attempt. It will take you 10min before you speak to a person, since the IVR is limited and they force you listen to many many many irrelevant messages. The IVR will ask for your number and ID. Then you actually speak to a person who ask the same information only to find another person to ask you the same information.....you will then probably speak to another a then another then another then another.... no agent is empowered to help you. They have zero understanding of customer service, or the human experience. My issue: I have a device insured and have been paying faithfully for 2 years on a contract. I have been spending probably 20x their ARU for 4 years. The first claim is the worst ever experience, I have ever had from any service provider. The story is too long and frustrating to share the details of. Needless to say I discover that unless you claim within 30days, they may reject your claim. This does not mean that they wont frustrate you to death in the mean time, trying to register a claim. They reserve the right to give you the most awful experience, and simply shrug it off. It is not surprising the the company Cell C has never shown profits and have simply destroyed shareholder value from the onset, despite some moments of promise over the years they have never been able to run a business with any level of appreciation of customer experience. At best they can start a price war based on false claims, but then what? (We remember their misleading 4G a few years ago claims) In the main, they simply don't understand what it means to be a CSP or what it means to compete for market share. If it wasn't too late I might have offered Cell C some tips on how to become a competitive business. It is unfortunate that that the company deserve its demise. RIP Cell C.
