I have never been a fan or customer of Cell C, due to listening to excisting customers' experiences. Never the less, decided to buy my kids 3 Cell C prepaid starter packs on Saturday, 09 Dec '17. First one activated, number sent via SMS, all good to go. Then Saturday evening, we started getting calls, people looking for Ngogo. 23h30 at night, another call from another number. 02h20 in the morning, same thing. Sunday during the day, another 5 calls. Monday morning at 05h15, 2 more. 06h00, more calls. Just to find out Cell C recycle numbers not used for 3 months. This means that people who got tired of debt collectors, banks, telesales, enemies, etc., simply dump the number and get a new starter pack. I am then the lucky winner of his/her phone calls all day and night. The biggest problem with this, is that they don't believe you when you tell them they got the wrong number. This is the number a person opened an account on and the number the store had all along!! The one person from Standard bank got arrogant, telling me to make sure Micheal phone them urgently. ***...!! Another guy told me this number belongs to his driver for years, and I must get Cell C to sort this problem out as he wanted to keep the number. The second number we activated was not as bad, not yet anyway. So far, only 5 unwanted calls. The third one was not activated yet as the tablet it is meant for, is faulty. Cell C call centre basically said, their is nothing they can do - deal with it. Asked to speak to a supervisor or Manager. No, but he./she will phone me back within an hr - 15 hrs and counting. The store just tells us, buy another sim. And that will also be another recycled number. What I am trying to say, Cell C only cares for contract customers and give the crumbs to the poor pre-paid customers at R0.99. I will make it my mission to spread this far and wide. If I can warn 10 people not to make the same mistake, I will be happy - but the more the better...!! Will aim for 1000's...!!
